Holiday in the heart of nature and culture of the Alto Tâmega

In an old quinta built in Spain in 1788, which is now in Portugal, we are developing a number of holiday homes. The first home, 'Chaves' is now ready and in use. On the grounds of over one hectare, you can enjoy the fruit trees and the vegetable garden, play at the stream at the back of the garden, play badminton, football or cool off with a drink in the outdoor pool. You can walk to Spain or into the mountains. One of Portugal's oldest cities, Chaves, with many Roman remains is only 15 minutes away... The Spanish city of Verin is just as far.

The apartments are fully and luxuriously furnished and the meter-thick old walls ensure that it is also pleasant to stay in the summer. Due to the mountainous climate it cools down sufficiently at night even in the hot summer months.

Due to its central location, the northern cities of Portugal such as Porto, Braga, Vila Real and Braganca, as well as the Galician Spanish cities such as Ourense, Leon, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo can be reached within 90 minutes.

Cambedo da Raia is located in one of the most beautiful natural areas in Europe with many national parks in the immediate vicinity.

Walking, mountain biking, canoeing, swimming for the sporty types. In the immediate vicinity several spas with healing springs! Plenty of restaurants and bodegas for the Burgundians among us and around every corner the opportunity to get to know or walk around in ancient cultures.

Viva sua Vida: Seize the Day!

We are Bart and Senja Buschmann. In May 2024, we emigrated to Portugal with our 2 sons. Our years of love for Portugal made us set up a company in 2021 with which we imported and sold the fantastic wines and olive oil from Portugal in the Netherlands. Under the name Viva sua Vida, which means 'live your life' in Portuguese and means the same as carpe diem, or seize the day, we did this for a number of years. Now that we have started our new chapter in Portugal, we have taken the name of the company with us and also used it for the Quinta that we bought here.

We rent out the apartments and as a guest you can use the facilities of the Quinta: outdoor swimming pool with bar, the garden, the orchard and vegetable garden. In high season you can also join us for dinner three times a week for a small fee. On Wednesday we make our famous Frango Piri Piri, On Friday evening we bake pizzas in our centuries-old stone oven and on Saturday evening we have a Portuguese Churrasquira (BBQ). The costs are 15 euros pp, including drinks. Children up to 10 years half price.
